Untitled Film, 2015

Boundaries can take many forms; societal, moral and ethical to name a few. Within this project I aimed to push my own boundaries, and make people question the norms that they live by.

In this vein, I began using pigs' blood and organs to create large scale abstract prints, juxtoposing the idea of something gruesome creating something unobstrusive. I took this a step further in creating a mixture of inks and paints to look like blood and filmed this being poured over myself in an urban environment.

I began to relate this to industrial farming; the idea of wholesale slaughter becoming an everyday occurrence in order to feed humans. I thus decided to create a film piece, depicting humans being sent to slaughter, in order to challenge viewers' opinions on what they find acceptable.
