Changing Faces, 2016

Initally this project was influenced by Cecil John Rhodes' statue, which has caused much debate as some view the statue as a symbol of white supremacy. However, the project became more personal as I began to explore the cultural and ethnic diversity in Zimbabwe and the lasting effects the globalisation of the country has had. Along with the effect it has had on myself and my family.

'Slash and Burn' by Fiona Hall has influenced this project - which represented the haunting expressions of physical and emotional disembodiment of the ethnic cleansing in Pakistan.

The use of heads makes the work much more personal allowing the viewers to become the protagonist and connect further with the work.
